Traffic congestion, delays on national roads as voters return to Athens
Traffic was heavy on national roads in Greece as of Sunday afternoon, with voters returning from voting centers outside Athens.
Particulaly heavy traffic was noted in the Athens-Corinth National Highway heading to Athens, particularly from the Corinth Canal (Isthmus) to Nea Peramos.
Additionally, the section from Kryoneri to Agios Stefanos of the Athens-Lamia National Highway is also congested heading into Athens, while other congestion points were the Metamorfossi Roundabout as well as a few kilometers heading to the Afidnes tolls.
On Attiki Odos, there are traffic delays in the direction heading to Elefsina (Eleusis), 10 to 15 minutes from the Peania to the Marathonas Roundabouts. Delays of 5 to 10 minutes are also noted at the Attiki Odos section between the Metamorfossi and Iraklio Roundabouts.
