Greece constantly registers negative records, Iliopoulos says

"Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the Mitsotakis policy must be defeated. That is why we are fighting for a progressive government that will put an end to the injustice of profiteering, increase incomes in a fair way, support pensioners and regulate private debt," main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Nasos Iliopoulos said on Wednesday in an interview with OPEN TV.
"Greece constantly registers negative records. The current wholesale electricity price in Greece is at 239 euros compared to 50 euros in France, Belgium and Germany. Greece has the most expensive gasoline, and even after the subsidies it is the third most expensive country in energy in relation to the income," he underlined, adding: "The Mitsotakis government has given 8 billion euros to the providers! Who did he get this money from? The citizens. It is the same case with the additional 4 billion euros in VAT revenue. This amount did not arise because people consume more. On the contrary, consumption has been decreasing. We consume less, we pay more."
Iliopoulos pointed out: "Another model is needed that will not subsidize profiteering in energy, but will be based on a public PPC. We are the only country that, in the midst of an energy crisis, privatized its basic tool."
