A major wildfire is blazing its way through an agricultural area in the region of Kallithea, near the city of Patras, northwestern Peloponnese, on Saturday.

Some 118 firefighters with 35 fire engines and 6 ground teams are battling the blaze, assisted by 4 water-bombers and 6 helicopters.

Residents in the areas of Platanovrissi and Agia Paraskevi at Achaia have been told to evacuate via 112 emergency text alerts, and head towards Chalandritsa.
