SYRIZA: Premier must release to the public its agreements with Krikel

The "reveleations on the purchase by the state of the Predator spying software are building up like an avalanche," main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance claimed on Wednesday.
Citing the Inside Story website, Syriza said that "the production company of this specific software is connected to another company, which has signed agreements with the Greek state since 2020 that were not posted publicly, as they fall under classified procurements."
The party said said that last week, "when Google revealed that Greece is among the countries that bought Predator, the government spokesman claimed that the Greek government and state services had not carried out or now carry out any transactions with anyone linked to this software's production and distribution."
Syriza called on Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to respond to the following question: "Are the classified agreements signed by the state with Krikel company related to the procurement of the spying system demonstrably used against citizens and journalists?"
The agreements must be made public, the main opposition party added, "because anything Mitsotakis may say right now, nobody in Greece or abroad believes him any more, as became evident by Tuesday's meeting of its spokesman with the European Commission Vice President [Vera] Jourova."
