New vaccination mega center inaugurated in Glyfada; opening to public Wed.
A new vaccination mega center was inaugurated in the coastal suburb of Glyfada on Tuesday, in the presence of government and local officials.
The inauguration of the center within the existing school building on the corner of Epaminonda and Archimidous Streets was attended by Health Minister Thanos Plevris, Primary Health Care Secretary General Marios Themistocleous, Glyfada Mayor Giorgos Papanikolaou, and President of the Hellenic Red Cross (HRC) Antonis Avgerinos.
The mega center will open to the public on Wednesday (Dec. 15). It can serve 1,500 to 1,800 people per day in 16 vaccination queues, and will be staffed by medical personnel including 50 nurses, HRC staff and Armed Forces staff.
Government officials attending said that the center will help meet high demand for all doses, and noted that the mega vaccination center of Peristeri will add another 24 waiting lines as of Saturday (Dec. 18).
