The week-long "Parmenion 2021" defense exercise entered its last phase on Thursday with a simulated attack of Chios island in the presence of National Defense Deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias and top military leaders.

Parmenion involves all branches of the Armed Forces and includes night operations, the last of which took place in Alexandroupolis on Wednesday night. The annual defense exercise began on September 24 and will conclude on Friday (Oct. 1). 

"Greece remains strong, with a dynamic presence on the international political stage and is emerging as a factor of stability and peace, contributing in key ways to the collaboration and friendship of peoples in its geographical neighborhood," Deputy Minister Hardalias said.
