A fire front spanning 6km is burning out of control in the southern part of the prefecture of Fokis, in central Greece, Region Vice-Governor Giorgos Delmouzos told Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) on Thursday.

The fire started at the village of Elea, where it burnt houses, and spread to the village of Kalithea, where it also destroyed homes, said Delmouzos. It then started moving towards the village of Aghios Spiridon. Both Elea and Kalithea have been evacuated.
