Six more crew members of the Dionysios Solomos ferry test positive for Covid-19

Six more members of the crew on the passenger car ferry "Dionysios Solomos", which has been docked since Tuesday afternoon in the port of Piraeus, have been tested positive for Covid-19.

During the ferry's voyage from the port of Piraeus to the islands of the Western Cyclades, three new cases of novel coronavirus were detected among the crew, in two sailors and an engineer.

A total of nine cases have been detected on the ship since Tuesday, while last week another crew member, who was not on the ship, was diagnosed with the virus. The sailor, according to the company, had not come into contact with the other crew members.

The nine crew members that tested positive for the virus are asymptomatic and have been placed in quarantine off the ship, according to the instructions of National Public Health Organisation (NPHO).
