Covid-19 testing for entire crew of 'Mein Schiff 6' cruiseship, once it arrives in Piraeus on Tue.

The "Mein Schiff 6" cruiseship, 12 of whose crew members tested positive for the novel coronavirus after random testing, is expected to dock at Piraeus port around 05:00 on Tuesday, officials said on Monday, in an update.

It is expected to dock at the second international cruiseship station ("Themistocles") at Gate E 12 (former "Kanellou Gate"); no one will be allowed to disembark. Instead, a National Public Health Organization group will board the ship at 07:30 on Tuesday to retest the 12 and to test the rest of the crew and staff.

The cruiseship's itinerary included the ports of Iraklio, Piraeus and Corfu with a total of 922 passengers and 666 crew and staff. Following EU protocols, the ship is prepared to isolate infected individuals in independently ventilated cabins in separate areas.

Civil Protection officials said that all passengers were obliged to submit a negative PCR test in the last 72 hours before boarding, adding also that none of the crew had disembarked during the cruise.
