Four respirators that survived the destruction of Moria hotspot by fire were included in the medical equipment delivered Wednesday to the Mytilini general hospital's intensive care unit by the Ministry of Migration & Asylum.
The equipment came from the Lesvos hotspot's clinic, which was funded by the Dutch government and built recently. The equipment was salvaged what remained after a fire destroyed the refugee reception and identification facility.
Meanwhile, a health clinic is being set up at the new refugee camp in Kara Tepe, Lesvos, in collaboration with the World Health Organization. The clinic will include a microbiology and radiology laboratory and a small hospital wing, and is expected to help decongest the Mytilini hospital.
