New buses on the streets of Thessaloniki by the end September, OASTH president Skodras says

The president of the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organisation (OASTH) Giorgos Skodras on Tuesday forecast that all the necessary procedures will have been completed and at least some of the 50 buses bought from Leipzig, Germany and of the 180 acquired through leasing will be added to city's public transport fleet by the end of September.
Speaking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency radio station "Praktoreio", he said that the first 18 buses will be on the streets in the next 15-20 days.
Skodras said that the new acquisitions will lower the average age of the buses in Thessaloniki's fleet to 11-12 years instead of the current 17, while the buses that reach 23 years old will be gradually withdrawn.
He said that another 10 buses will arrive from Leipzig on Friday and go into circulation very soon.
