PM Mitsotakis asks for US contribution in addressing Turkey's provocative stance

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Saturday received visiting US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at the Maximos mansion.
Welcoming Pompeo, Mitsotakis asked for USA's contribution in addressing the Turkish provocations against Cyprus and Greece. "Turkey's recent activities in the plot 7 violate Cyprus' sovereignty rights" said the Greek prime minister adding that the US are interested for the region and the only thing that Cyprus is asking for, is the respect to the International Law.
Mitsotakis referred to Ankara's extreme rhetoric noting that Turkey's activities do not comply with the international law and with the good neighbourly relations.
On the cooperation in the sector of defence, Mitsotakis noted that it could be mutually beneficial especially on the stability and safety in the area.
He also referred to US companies' interest for investments in Greece pointing out the investments of Pfizzer, Cisco, Onyx in Syros shipyards and indirectly EXXON which is interested with joint ventures in the hydrocarbons research in Crete. He also noted the cooperation in the field of tourism and the American tourists’ arrivals as well as the scholarships to Greek students, the exchange programmes and the 'abolition' of the visa for Greek citizens.
