School student march for climate crisis held in Athens

A march by school students to demand action to save the environment and the planet from the climate crisis was held in central Athens on Friday.
The school students gathered in Monastiraki Square and then marched to Syntagma Square and the Greek parliament, where a student delegation handed a resolution with their demands to Parliament Vice President Tasia Christodoulopoulou.
Talking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA), 18-year-old Irene Bougiouka said: "Participation in our mobilisations is growing more and more, there is no reason to stop. Our goal is to make absolutely clear that our planet is facing an emergency situation."
She said that Christodoulopoulou appeared "open" to hearing young people when they met her in Parliament.
