Three injured from landslide at Zakynthos beach; emergency units on the scene

Three people were lightly injured after a landslide over the iconic Navagio beach on Zakynthos island, western Greece, on Thursday.
The three are being transferred to the Zakynthos General Hospital, while an emergency team from the local Fire Brigade (EMAK) is searching under fallen rocks for other possible victims.
According to owners of private boats in the area, there were three boats with passengers in the area during the landslide. "We heard a sound and a small part of the rock fell, then a second one, and finally a third and large piece dropped in the sea, creating turbulence that overturned the boats," a witness told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.
There were many tourists with children at the beach who were evacuated on boats.
Another Fire Brigade unit based in Elefsina, on the Attica coast, is on its way now to Zakynthos and another EMAK team of ten with a dog are on their way to the island as well, to assist the local Fire Brigade and Coast Guard in searching for possible victims.
