Venizelos again points to 'gov't of nat'l co-responsibility'
AMNA / PASOK party leader Evangelos Venizelos on Saturday unveiled what he called eight proposals for achieving a coalition government after the upcoming June 17 election, which he again referred to as a government of "national co-responsibility".
Venizelos, a long-time minister in several past PASOK governments and most recently the finance minister, first criticised rival New Democracy and the Radical Left before listing his proposals, including an agreement over a system of governance or support until 2014 by "all those who condemn violence and accept a democratic institutional framework."www.amna.gr
He also proposed an "organised" effort to revise what he called the "negative terms" of the bailout package; extending the deadline for meeting Memorandum targets by three years; ensuring a viable debt; discussing the implementation of structural reforms; agreement over a new tax system and investment framework and creation of what he called a "social protection net". amna
In touching on one SYRIZA campaign slogan of late, namely, "Memorandum or SYRIZA?", he charged that the real dilemmas are "Europe and the euro, or SYRIZA?"; "Growth or SYRIZA?"; "New jobs or SYRIZA?".
